Phase I Environmental Site Assessor

The Empirical Company, is seeking to hire an experienced environmental site assessor. Desired skills include experience conducting Phase I ESAs and limited Phase II investigations, firm knowledge of ASTM Standard E 1527-05 protocol and requirements, project management, and preparation of project scopes and budgets. Familiarity with additional environmental regulatory considerations including threatened or endangered species and cultural resource issues is also desired. General responsibilities include project management; budget, proposal, and scope preparation; fieldwork; technical reporting; client and agency interaction; and marketing.

Candidates must minimally possess the following:
- Have a minimum of 5 years of continuous or equivalent professional experience with Phase I ESA preparation.
- Thorough understanding of ASTM standard E 1527-05
- The ability to work unsupervised as well as to perform as a productive and enthusiastic part of a team.
- The ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the west coast or farther.

Candidates possessing the following additional certification will be highly considered:
- Registered Environmental Professional, Registered Environmental Property Assessor, Registered Environmental Manager (or similar).
** Candidate will be expected to generate a substantial portion of their own project load as a condition of continued employment.**

Industrial Hygiene Technician

The Empirical Company offers fast, economical and reliable on-site lead-based paint inspections using a portable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer. The XRF quickly and accurately measures lead concentrations in painted surfaces without damage to the painted surface.

The Empirical Company is one of a small number of firms in the nation with on-site X-ray fluorescence (XRF). The XRF is a good quantitative instrument for smooth, painted surfaces.
